Flood Watch issued June 1 at 10:33AM CDT until June 1 at 6:00PM CDT by NWS Mobile AL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southwest Alabama, including the following areas, Baldwin Central, Baldwin Coastal, Baldwin Inland, Mobile Central, Mobile Coastal and Mobile Inland and northwest Florida, including the following areas, Escambia Coastal, Escambia Inland, Okaloosa Coastal, Okaloosa Inland, Santa Rosa Coastal and Santa Rosa Inland. * WHEN...Until 6 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms will continue to develop through at least early this afternoon. Additional rain totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected, however, isolated locations could receive up to additional 4 inches. Much of this rainfall will occur in a short period of time which will increase the threat for flooding, especially in urban and poor drainage areas, as well as over areas that have already seen heavy rainfall and flooding earlier this morning. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. In Florida, Escambia Coastal, Santa Rosa Coastal and Okaloosa Coastal Counties. * WHEN...From 7 AM CDT this morning through late Sunday night. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.
