Trinity River near Crockett affecting Madison, Trinity, Houston and Walker Counties. Long King Creek near Livingston affecting Polk and San Jacinto Counties. Trinity River at Liberty affecting Liberty County. Trinity River near Goodrich affecting Polk, San Jacinto and Liberty Counties. Trinity River near Moss Bluff affecting Chambers and Liberty Counties. Navasota River near Normangee affecting Brazos, Madison and Grimes Counties. Brazos River near Rosharon affecting Fort Bend and Brazoria Counties. For the Trinity River...including Crockett, Riverside, Romayor, Goodrich, Liberty, Moss Bluff...Major flooding is forecast. For the Long King Creek...including Livingston...Minor flooding is forecast. For the Navasota River...including Normangee...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Trinity River near Goodrich. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 41.0 feet, Major lowland flooding begins as the slab elevation of homes on the right bank just below Lake Livingston is reached. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:45 AM CDT Friday the stage was 40.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 33.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 2:45 AM CDT Friday was 40.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 42.1 feet this evening. - Flood stage is 36.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 41.6 feet on 05/14/1966. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Flood Warning issued May 17 at 3:43AM CDT until May 17 at 8:45AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Liberty, Montgomery, Polk and San Jacinto. * WHEN...Until 845 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 343 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
