Flood Advisory issued June 20 at 4:33PM EDT until June 20 at 10:30PM EDT by NWS Grand Rapids MI * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of south central Michigan, including the following counties, Clinton, Eaton and Ingham. * WHEN...Until 1030 PM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 428 PM EDT, Radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Some areas could see an inch of rain in less than an hours time through 600 pm, especially the south side of Lansing - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lansing, East Lansing, Grand Ledge, Edgemont Park, Capital Region International Airport, DeWitt, Dimondale, Waverly, Holt, Bath, Okemos and Haslett. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Heat Advisory issued June 20 at 3:59PM EDT until June 22 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Grand Rapids MI * WHAT...Heat index values up to 98. * WHERE...Calhoun, Eaton, Ingham, Jackson, Allegan, Barry, Kalamazoo, Kent, Ottawa, and Van Buren Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
