Red Flag Warning issued June 15 at 2:37PM MDT until June 18 at 12:00AM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 497 Mojave Desert. * WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph Sunday afternoon and evening and up to 40 mph Monday afternoon and evening. Gusts may continue on exposed ridgelines overnight. * COLD FRONT...A strong cold front will cross the area late Monday evening, bringing an abrupt wind shift to the northwest. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 7 percent. Overnight recoveries will be poor, averaging around 15-25%. * IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are likely to occur. Any new fire starts or existing fires may spread rapidly. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or are imminent. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
