Humboldt River At Comus affecting Humboldt County. .The Humboldt River at Comus is expected to slowly rise through the weekend. For the Lower Humboldt...including Battle Mountain, Comus...elevated river levels are forecast. * WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt is possible. * WHERE...Humboldt River at Comus. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Minor to moderate lowland flooding throughout the reach. Some rural roads near the river begin to flood. Very minor flooding begins in Winnemucca with storm drain backups, and the lowest parts of town begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:15 AM PDT Saturday the stage was 8.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Monday morning and continue rising to 9.8 feet Tuesday evening.
